Goodbye, Michael!

The greatest pop singer of all time is finally gone. CNN ( read more here) has confirmed that he died at age 50 yesterday, Thursday. According to reports, he collapsed at his rented home in west LA.

Jackson has sold more than 750 million albums and won 13 Grammys, but has not staged a major tour since 1997 or released an album of new material since 2001. His last live performance in Britain was at the 2006 World Music Awards, when he managed just a few lines of "We Are the World" before leaving the stage.

His albums are among the world's best-selling records: Off the Wall (1979), Thriller (1982), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995).

He appeared in public infrequently since being acquitted of child molestation in California in 2005, and he has struggled to pay his debts. Last year, he was forced to give up the deed to Neverland, his 2,500-acre ranch and miniature amusement park in California.

I was always amazed how he does the moonwalk, and how his face changed over the years.

There are so many eccentric people on this earth, but Michael's one of the most public. Jackson's skin was a medium-brown color for the entire duration of his youth, but starting in the early 1980s, his skin gradually grew paler. This change gained widespread media coverage, including rumors that Jackson was bleaching his skin.In the mid-1980s, Jackson was diagnosed with vitiligo and lupus; the latter was in remission in Jackson's case, and both illnesses made him sensitive to sunlight. The treatments he uses for his condition further lighten his skin tone, and, with the application of pancake makeup to even out blotches, he could appear very pale. The structure of his face changed as well; several surgeons have speculated that Jackson had undergone multiple nasal surgeries, a forehead lift, thinned lips and a cheekbone surgery.Changes to his face were, in part, due to periods of significant weight loss.Jackson lost weight in the early 1980s because of a change in diet and a desire for "a dancer's body"..Witnesses reported that Jackson was often dizzy and speculated that he was suffering from anorexia nervosa; periods of weight loss would become a recurring problem for the singer later in life. Some medical professionals have publicly stated their belief that the singer had body dysmorphic disorder, a psychological condition whereby the sufferer has no concept of how they are perceived by others.

He wasn't just a part of the pop culture, he was the pop culture.

His famous quotes:

"Everyone who knows me will know the truth which is that my children come first in my life and that I would never harm any child."

~After British TV documentary by Martin Bashir Living With Michael Jackson was shown on February 3, 2003

"Why can't you share your bed? That's the most loving thing to do, to share your bed with someone. You say, 'You can have my bed if you want it. Sleep in it. I'll sleep on the floor. It's yours.' I always give the beds to the company."

~Admitting he shared his bed with children, in British TV documentary by Martin Bashir, February 2003

"I love E. T. 'cos it reminds me of me. Someone from another world coming down and you becoming friends with them and this person is, like, 800 years old and he's filling you with all kinds of wisdom and he can teach you to fly. That whole fantasy thing which I think is great. I mean, who don't wanna fly?"

~Interview in Smash Hits, January 20, 1983 - Jackson collaborated with E. T. director Steven Spielberg on the E. T. Storybook album and also narrated it

My father was a management genius. But what I really wanted was a dad.

~Speech at Oxford Union, on his children's Bill of Rights

"If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with."

When I cry

When a bitch cries, don't ask why. She wouldn't want your comfort too soon because she'll break. If you touch her, she might lash out in pain. She just want to hide for a while and lick her wounds and gather her strength because she hurts more than anyone else. If you love her, take your distance for a moment for her to find her ground. And when she does, be ready to run the fields with her again.

I'd like to thank my friend csandhollow over at FuelMyBlog for pointing out that she could not post her comments. And I thought that my blogs sucked that's why I haven't been seeing comments lately!

So now, I have already corrected my comment settings so I hope to see everyone sharing and talking about how my blogs suck, or not!!!

Happy enough.

A dear friend called me last night. It's been almost a year since we talked and I was so glad we were able to catch up with what's going on with our lives.

I asked her if she was happy with the life that she chose. I thought I heard a hint of disappointment in her voice or was it just me? Maybe I was trying too hard to hear I wasn't listening. I wish for her to be happy. I'd really like to believe she is happy .
She asked me if I am happy, too. For a moment there, I didn't know how to answer her. I mean, is one ever truly happy?

Everyday we face this battle that we call CHOICE. And choices are never handed to us in a silver platter. We have to fight for it, we can hurt and be hurt and whatever happen to these choices, we have to live with it. I stumble and fall, I cry, I get lost. But I can love, I can laugh, I can do the best with the life that I chose to live.

So I can't say I'm blissfully happy. But I'm happy enough.

week of june7: favorite quotes
I know what things are good: friendship and work and conversation. These I shall have. ~Rupert Brooke
To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone. ~Reba McEntire
In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life. It goes on. ~Robert Frost

What's yours?

Unspoken

I am not sorry for the things that I said to you, but i'm sorry that we have to fight like this.
If I wanted to hurt you, I could and you know that. I could take him away from you without remorse and you know in your heart that he will never put up a fight. Maybe you think it's just physical that's going on between us that's why you say I am madly in love with him. I do not "madly" love. I neither scheme to get my way nor lash out blindly in anger. I could, if I put a mind to it but I will not have him lose his respect for me.
There's more to a relationship than love. And he finds that "more" here with me. So please don't push him away with your nagging and whining and your suicidal threats because if you do, I will gladly take him in, flaws and all.

On the Verge of something...

cliff fallin

...wonderful or catastrophic, I still don't know.

The first time I saw him in December last year, I knew right away that we will have something special.

I love him. I could go on and on expounding the why's and the how's of it and I'll never finish, so don't ask me. I just do.

It took me two years to get over my last relationship, another two years' rest from heart entanglements and he's going to be my first serious affair after that.

So now, I don't know if I'm ready to jump the cliff again.

4. You go to a nice restaurant and they are offering free samples of cheese. You take a bite and it's delicious. Then they tell you the cheese is processed with maggots in it which make the great texture and flavor. Do you vomit at the thought of maggots, think "oh well but no more", or just ask for another sample? As long as I can't see the maggots, then it would be fine..hehehe. We have to be adventurous, you know. ***wink***

5. Would you rather ride on a cloud or slide down a rainbow? Rainbows would be fun to slide on....

Quote of the Day

"He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying."– Friedrich Nietzsche

About Friedrich Nietzsche
Controversial German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche is best known for his book Thus Spake Zarathustra. Born in 1844 near Leipzig, he renounced Prussian citizenship in 1869, remaining stateless the rest of his life. In his work, he argued against the concept of an omnipotent deity, believing in a "will to power," a drive toward creativity that could explain everything from natural phenomena to human behavior. He suffered from insanity, possibly syphilis-induced, for his last ten years. He died in 1900.
