Fun in the Sun

Do you see that bit of yellow? That was poor Pooh buoy almost mangled by little boys and girls having fun in the pool!

This was taken last week when our work department had our summer outing that almost turned to a kids' party. :)

If you wish to see lots of yellow, come and visit Mellow Yellow Monday!

Gunung Lang

Waterfalls can only be appreciated in the distance, with its height and magnificence. It makes you wonder what water it  was yesterday, or will be tomorrow, or the next moment... the waters forever new.

By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.

Loboc River Cruise

The Loboc River is one of the best tourist attraction in Bohol, Philippines. I haven't been here but a good friend of mine shared this beautiful picture she has taken of this famous river only this summer. It looked so romantic! Maybe Teddy and I would come here one day...I thought of the song Moon River by Johnny Mercer (lyrics) and Henry Mancini (music) and as I was googling this song, I came across a photography blog called MOON RIVER. You can come and check it out!

...oops! Lunchbreak almost up!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed skywatching with me! Have a great weekend!

Contentment

Teddy on his way home from Cagayan Valley

“There is no end of craving. Hence contentment alone is the best way to happiness. Therefore, acquire contentment.”-- Indian proverb

But does the human heart ever find it? We look for it, elusive and undefined, in almost every nook and cranny of our lives.

If contentment means being happy with what we have,  does it mean we have to be ambitionless to be content?

Qoute of the Day:

True contentment depends not upon what we have; a tub was large enough for Diogenes, but a world was too little for Alexander.

Off to Caramoan Peninsula

The 8th season of Koh-Lanta (French edition of Survivor), was shot entirely in Caramoan. TV director Corinne Vaillant, stated that "the powdery sand, the coconuts on Gota beach and the neighboring islets are a 'dream' for the French people. We chose Caramoan because it’s really wild. It’s necessary that contestants don’t see anything other than nature for them to believe that they’re really lost in the wilds.”

The General, Bow!

The photo was taken during the Balikatan excercise together with the Americans.

The Balikatan series is an annual event aimed at improving RP-US combined planning, combat readiness, and interoperability while enhancing security relations and demonstrating US resolve to support the Republic of the Philippines against external aggression.

Balikatan is conducted to meet RP-US obligations under the Mutual Defense Treaty and to fulfill RP-US mutual training and readiness requirements. The Phillipine Constitution does not allow long-term basing by another country in the Philippines. The last of the US military bases at Subic and Clark were closed in the early 1990s. The first Balikatan exercise was conducted in 1991. In 1995 the Philippines ended Balikatan because of a dispute over the Visiting Forces Agreement. That agreement gives the United States jurisdiction over crimes committed by military personnel while on duty in a foreign country. It was reinstated in May 1999 despite protests from the Catholic Church and other anti-U.S. elements in the Philippines. The Visiting Forces Agreement provided for expanded military cooperation after coming into force in 1999. The Balikatan resumed in 1999 after being suspended.

Watery Wednesday ~ The Zen of Water

I was visiting a lot of Ten on Tuesday players this week and most of us loved the sound of water, so I thought I'd post this one. This is a man-made waterfall out front of a hotel lobby in Tagaytay. Everytime I see fountains, I'd stand next to it to feel the shower touching my face and listen to it for a while...
