Are you coming to P-Noy's Inauguration tomorrow?

Tomorrow is a work holiday. Are you coming to the concert and street party at Quezon City Memorial Circle to celebrate president-elect Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III's presidential  inauguration?

Tomorrow is a global event! According to ABS-CBN News, 110 dignitaries will be coming to show support to the incoming Aquino administration. President Noynoy, also known as P-noy (sounds like "pinoy", means "filipino" in english?) has to live up to his parent's legacy as democracy fighters. And I hope, as we all do, that his administration will elevate the standards of living of the masses and keep up the hope he raised when he presented his campaign platform.

He has  a lot of work to do.

Ruby Tuesday , other bloghop events, and a lullaby...

Tulog Na
by: Sugarfree

Sleep now, my love
let the world be for a while
come now, let's sleep

Sleep now, my love
don't cry anymore
the bed is soft, don't you worry now

Sleep now, my love
I'm just here, I'll take care of you
Go on, sleep now

Sleep now, my love
tomorrow you'll smile at last
and we'll face the world together

Sleep now
Let them be for a while
They won't hurt you anymore

Sleep now...

Sometimes, Teddy has dark moods. Maybe because there are so many things that he thinks he wants needs to take care of. I'd always tell him, "...relax, everything will turn out right in it's own time and pace."

I always wanted to sing this song to him, a lullaby , a reassurance that everything will be alright.

Mad World -- Gary Jules

"Life is like music; it must be composed by ear, feeling, and instinct, not by rule."

– Samuel Butler

Note to self

Instead of doggedly pushing your way forward as usual, consider making a significant change to your current approach to getting things done.

Sometimes I could be bullheaded and would push on no matter what. Call that optimism. Or foolishness, on the other end. My Teddy says, adjust. Act according to circumstance.

Letters of Intent 06.25.2010

Dear Facebook Poser,

You who created an account with my name and wrote a defamatory profile of me, I pity you.
Of course, you won't admit it. BUT.I.KNOW.WHO.YOU.ARE.
Everyone must move on, so why don't you?

Good luck,
Annoyed

Dear Teddy,

How I wish you would pick up your socks --
and help with the laundry --
and not be so taciturn most of the time --

I'm glad though, that you appreciate my cooking --
that we can still find the time to talk in the mornings, despite our busy schedules --
that after the "chaos" last Decemebr, we are slowly settling in...

And I love you for all these things.

I hope you know.

Hugs,
Wee

Dear Mr. Time,

Please be so kind to my parents, now that they are old. Give them more of you.

Praying,
Daughter

Be an A-lister!

As The Blogger's Concierge, Gigi of KludgyMom and Melissa of Miel et Lait
is hunting for The A-List! Each week, one blog will be featured  on The Blogger's Concierge and I want to be an A-Lister!

Now, why would I be an A-Lister?

Because I like to write, that's why! I work with numbers 10 hours max a day (being a part of Finance Department of a manufacturing company), and writing and reading are my de-stressors. There is such comfort in the written word, you can play it your mind in silence.

I'd say I'm still a fledgling blogger with so much to learn still, as you can see here. I like sharing my world through random pictures (take a peek here, if you would) and at times, would try to express my thoughts randomly, like here and there.

This blog started only as a curiosity, when I saw a couple of Friendster friends doing this this thing called online journal. One of my first post was about the Art of Breaking Up, for my friend going through a heartbreak. At first, I thought I would post only the darker side of me, like, if I hate someone or angry over something I have a little anonymous place I could vent the heat , thus, this blog was called fickleinpink, the dark side. Fickle, because maybe I can change my mind at will act according to circumstance, and pink, because I'm a girl (take note: not baby pink, but dark pink). But as I  my blog went on and my followers (small as it maybe) grew, my view of the world grew, too. There's is so much to see here in the blogosphere, and I wish to see more! Soon this place became my sanctuary, with my online friends!

Do you want to be a part of this exciting group? All you have to do is post about you and your blog, and why you should be an A-Lister, too! Click here or the rules

Music Monday -- Passenger Seat by Death Cab for Cutie

    I roll the window down
And then begin to breathe in
    The darkest country road
And the strong scent of evergreen
From the passenger seat as you are driving me home.

    Then looking upwards
I strain my eyes and try
To tell the difference between shooting stars and satellites
From the passenger seat as you are driving me home.

    "Do they collide?"
    I ask and you smile.
With my feet on the dash
    The world doesn't matter.

When you feel embarrassed then I'll be your pride
When you need directions then I'll be the guide
    For all time.
    For all time.

    Six Word Saturday - Stressed

    Audit season once again. Stressed,stressed!

It's been a week since the last time I opened my blog. Arrgh! I didn't even peeked since the 6th.

Our company books will be under perusal of our auditors this whole month, and so I'm staying late in the office most days.

Anyway, I hope everyone to have a great weekend nonetheless.

    Fall

Your Soul Is Connected to the Fall

You are a somewhat sensitive soul with a tough exterior. You are street smart and wise about the world.

You have the heart of a poet, but you're not too eager to let anyone else see it.

You are very creative and deeply talented. You are still looking for the perfect outlet for your expression.

You embrace change and think the cycles of life are beautiful. You don't shrink away from the darker elements of life.

    Friday Quotes

"He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying."

    – Friedrich Nietzsche

    Cheesy days and gray hair

Today, I found ONE gray hair standing out on my temple --

--and it freaked the hell out of me!

    Arrrgh!

I was fussing about it SECRETLY (as I don't want to broadcast it), Teddy reached for a kiss as he went out the door this morning.

I felt better then and rushed back to the mirror to inspect ME more closely.

Prominent wrinkles? None yet except when I smile, and it appears as fine lines in my eyes. Skin? Smooth to the touch, thank God for good genes. A little flab  love handle on the side, but what do you expect from a stressed chocolate lover? Besides, Teddy likes a little meat on me. So I think I'm still okay.

    Well, anyways.

I'm thinking of a NOW post for my NaBloPoMo, and I can't think much is happening in my life right now, except THAT minor incident of the gray hair.

So I googled  what's happening around the world today.

And I found out that today is Cheese Day! Yay, I love cheeses, especially mozzarella on pizza and cheddar on my pasta and edam on Christmas!

Another question: Do you love fables, when you were little and now that you little ones?  'Cause today is AESOP's birthday! Find here the list of Aesop's fables.

writing prompts for the day of June here.

    NaBloPoMo #3 - Freedom is...

...the ability to be, without being afraid of being "not"

...the soft wind whipping at your face that smell of newly cut grass and sun

...the ability to laugh as you get up and dust yourself off after a fall

...the purr of the engine as your car gears slows down the bend and the exhilaration as it speeds up

...the ability to love without boundaries and prejudice, and live a life of meaning (at least meaningful to someone)

NaBloPoMo #2 - My favorite poem

    Mutability

    We are the clouds that veil the midnight moon;
How restlessly they speed, and gleam, and quiver,
    Streaking the darkness radiantly!--yet soon
Night closes round, and they are lost forever:

Or like forgotten lyres, whose dissonant strings
Give various response to each varying blast,
To whose frail frame no second motion brings
One mood or modulation like the last. We rest.--

    A dream has power to poison sleep;
    We rise.--One wandering thought pollutes the day;
    We feel, conceive or reason, laugh or weep;
Embrace fond foe, or cast our cares away:

It is the same!--For, be it joy or sorrow,
The path of its departure still is free:
    Man's yesterday may ne'er be like his morrow;
    Nought may endure but Mutability.

This is what life about. Change.

    and
    it's always Wordless Wednesday everyday!

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a detective, like a lady Dick Tracy.

"Foolish girl!', anyone who heard me would say.

    Or a striptease.

But in an Asian culture such as ours, well, that is not to be talked or thought about.

    Oh Well.

Teachers are cool and so I thought  that I could be one, too. My teachers would smile proudly and elders would nod and say, "that's good".But when I still wanted to take up a teaching course in college, my parents would say, "that's all work and little pay..."

So I stacked it behind my all other priorities. I took up an industrial course instead.

    What now?

It's the 1st of June already, how time flies!

I'm here at the office, reconciling accounting items for our month-end activities when "it" suddenly popped in my mind.

"It" being the question, "what now?"

talking about mind wandering off to other things...

    right now...

I'm at that point in my career where I want to quit but I can't, mainly due to financial security it provides me.

I'm at that point in my relationship where we are still trying things out, where I wish I could push things a bit but my pride won't let me.

I'm at this point in my where I wanted to be somewhere else but I'm chained here.

I feel like like I'm just coasting along.

    So, what now?

    Bottom line: I don't know.

    :sigh::

    OK, back to work.

Roses with thorns, or thorns with roses?

"Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns. I am thankful that thorns have roses."

                                                            – Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr
