I wanted to be a detective, like a lady Dick Tracy.
"Foolish girl!', anyone who heard me would say.
Or a striptease.
But in an Asian culture such as ours, well, that is not to be talked or thought about.
Oh Well.
Teachers are cool and so I thought that I could be one, too. My teachers would smile proudly and elders would nod and say, "that's good".But when I still wanted to take up a teaching course in college, my parents would say, "that's all work and little pay..."
So I stacked it behind my all other priorities. I took up an industrial course instead.

2 pinky-swear friends shared a thought or two...:
I wanted to play the piano, having had lesson since the age of four and passed many examinations.
At 17, met the love of my life and married at 19. I still love music and wish I hadn't given up my lesson.
Loved your write.
Yvonne.
I wanted to become an airline pilot, but lacked the internal fortitude to carry it out because of mental weakness to vain desires and wishes.
